Partnership with Genesis Property set to exceed 20 years

PPD extends its lease at West Gate Business District for the fourth time

PPD, a company specialising in clinical research, has extended its lease for office space at West Gate Business District, the business campus owned by Genesis Property, for a further three years. This marks the fourth consecutive lease extension, taking the partnership, which began in 2008, beyond the 20-year milestone.

The continued relationship with PPD reflects Genesis Property’s strategy of developing business campuses designed to adapt over the long term to evolving ways of working, as well as to the changing expectations of companies and employees.

“In real estate, performance is not only about attracting companies to a development, but also about creating an environment where they choose to stay and grow. Four consecutive lease extensions and a relationship that will span more than 20 years are, for us, an important validation of this approach. Over that time, the way we work has changed fundamentally, and our responsibility is to ensure that the campus continues to evolve alongside the people and companies that use it”, said Elena Panait, Head of Leasing, Genesis Property.

The lease extension follows a new milestone for West Gate Business District: all five buildings within the campus have achieved BREEAM In-Use ‘Outstanding’ certification, the highest rating under the international building performance assessment standard. The assessment covered more than 94,000 sqm and awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating for both Asset Performance, with a score of 88.1%, and Management Performance, with a score of 90.2%.

Alongside investments in building performance and sustainability, Genesis Property has continued to develop the infrastructure at West Gate designed to enhance the day-to-day experience of the campus community. The campus includes more than 16,000 sqm of green space, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a four-star accommodation facility, a tennis court and a running track.

Through these investments, Genesis Property aims to transform the office from a place used solely for work into a campus where infrastructure, services and amenities enhance the employee experience and support companies in attracting and retaining talent.
