Nearly 60% of employees say their company's policy is to work only from the office or in a hybrid system with mainly physical presence, while another nearly 30% go to the office only when they need to interact with colleagues or feel the need to socialize. More than 70% want to work from the office in 2022 or at least in a hybrid system.

More than 81% of respondents think they will be working in a hybrid or office-only system in 2022, while only 11% think their employer will still opt for the team to continue to work remotely starting January, although the pandemic continues to evolve and health risks remain high.

As employees will increasingly return to the office in 2022, a need for office transformation that responds to the post-pandemic way of working is emerging. Half of Romanian employees believe that the office needs to be redesigned to create different areas that give them more flexibility and multiple working options, depending on the type of work and collaboration needs.

Half of employees point out that an acceleration of the vaccination campaign is extremely necessary to combat the effects of the fourth wave of the pandemic. Some 44% also see a need for additional sanitation and social distancing measures to limit the spread of the virus, and 38% consider that it is necessary for people to get tested more frequently.

Demand for accommodation in West Gate Studios, the first and largest private campus in Romania with an accommodation capacity for 1,600 students and young professionals, increased by 15% before the start of the new school year and occupancy is expected to return to 2019 levels in the coming period.

In recent years the sustainability of office buildings has become an important part of life for more and more Romanian employees, but, in the last year and a half, the health, both personal and of the workspace, has become an essential integral part of sustainability initiatives.
